  1. Just read this after a circular conversation with a clerk from a corporation. I think I understand it. In the end, it’s all about survival. We laugh to keep going. Everything in this system we call life will keep moving in its little pattern, with or without our approval. We’re just in the middle of it. We might as well, wipe our mouth and laugh.

    • That does make sense. And Eliot’s “Preludes” (which I just realised I mistagged as the “Four Quartets”, gah) do have that theme of futility running through them.

    • Yes, that’s why he wrote The Wasteland and then wrote a whole book of notes to accompany it. 😉
      He has a way of making ordinary words sound good, though!
